Welcome
to Our Shop
All of our ceramics here in the shop are woodfired.
In the Hague in our physical shop we also carry some electric fired ceramics.

So why woodfiring...
When I started out with ceramics I was not only captivated by the clay, this magical, versatile material but also with the glazing part, I became passionate...
Firing our ceramics in a woodkiln provides us another creative challenge...when firing an electric kiln, we switch on the kiln, programme the heatingcurve and come back the next day and see our results.; convenient and predictable.
Firing in a woodkiln we have to deal with the weather, the air pressure, the placement in the kiln, the type of wood we are firing, the time we take to fire up to peak temperature, the heating curve. Then doing a slow cool to let all crystals in our glazes slowly settle and find a balance ...lots of little things to tinker and control, labour-intensive and time consuming and ultimately expensive.
After a day of rest and cooling down naturally the kiln is ready to open and we potters are aching with anticipation.... christmastime....
