We will do another firing of our catenary-arch woodkiln 'Sophia-gama in the foothills of the Italian Alps close to Biella in Valle Cervo, Piemonte //Italy. Calling all passionate ceramic artists! If you're seeking a unique opportunity to explore the enchanting world of woodfiring, we warmly invite you to join us for an unforgettable experience at 3TREESceramics//Balma.IT. Sophia-gama is our catenary arch kiln designed and constructed by Andres Allik and will be fired for another time. Located in an old historical quarry-headoffice, nestled in the Valle Cervo, Piemonte //Italy, close to Biella. You will be housed in our simple and modest mountainhouse, a 8 minute drive or a 30 minute walk from the kiln site. October 4 - October 10, the Autumn session. After arriving on Sunday afternoon, you can glaze your work on Monday and Tuesday with our special woodfiring glazes, all homemade celadons, temmoku's, shinos and ash glazes. The Wednesday we will fill up the kiln and start the firing in the evening. Thursday we will be stoking up to 1300*c //cone 11 and let it cool naturally on the Friday. Unpacking the kiln on Saturday will feel like Christmas. After unpacking we will clean the kiln and kiln site. At 17:00 in the afternoon we will part our ways. If you want to be part of this exclusive experience then bring your own bisque -fired works. You will be able to allocated your works on a 75 x 50 kilnshelf, varied sizes. To ensure an intimate and enriching experience, we are limiting the group size to a maximum of 8 passionate ceramic artists including us, Cora and Joris. The costs will be € 1000,- to participate. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. Booking is only final after payment is in full. Whether you're a experienced woodfirer or exploring this technique for the first time, we welcome artists from all backgrounds and nationalities. Extra nights (Meals & Lodgings) is €30 per night Food is made and created together, included in the fee, simple but delicious. All alcohol is charged extra.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy Cancellations and Refunds: 1. Cancellations made 60 days ormore before the workshop will receive a full refund if the cancellation is made at least 60 days prior to the scheduled workshop date ex €50 admin fee. 2. Cancellations Made up to 30 Days to the beginning of the workshop date will receive a 50% refund, ex €50 admin fee.. 3. Cancellations less than 30 days before the workshop will not be eligible for a refund. However, participants may transfer their spot to another person. 4. No-shows: * Participants who do not show up for the workshop without prior notice will not receive a refund. Workshop Cancellations by the Organizer: * In the event that the workshop is cancelled by the organizer due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule for a future workshop.
