This handmade wood fired ceramic chawan is crafted with two iron bearing clays, a smooth one and a more coarse one, creating a unique rusty iron look. I added some fukushima spar, tiny little rocks through the clay creating the effect of white little spots on the surface. The bowl is glazed with a special iron bearing 'tenmokku' glaze. The piece is wood fired in an Italian Sophiagama, giving it a unique and rustic look. The is perfect for adding a stylish touch to any kitchen.
